Plan of the day?

Rumors said that the world will end on the 21st of December 2012 based on the analysis of the Maya's calender. According to one of my friend, before 21st of December, most of the Malaysian were buying lots of food to store because of  worrying the shortage of food when the day comes.  This is what most of the people react to the so called 'end of the world'. Even, I still remember people are posting on the social media asking who would you prefer together with when the end of world happen?

But, I'm going to tell you this. The real fact of it. The year will end after today when the clock strike 12a.m tonight. NOT the end of the world, but the end of year 2012. Haha!

So what is your plan for today? Just only today. How are you going to fully utilize and spend the last day of 2012? Eating? Shopping? Gathering? Sleeping?

I guess when this article is published, I'm still in Sibu,Sarawak doing my survey. So, my plan for the last day of 2012, will be WORKING!

Of course, if time permit, I will have a personal space to do some personal reflection on myself. Probably I might reflect on the bad things about myself, repent or change to be better and retain those good point about me. I strongly believe that, new year, we should throw the bad and retain the good. All of us in the new year, we have our  own role to play. We cannot be always staying at our own comfortable zone by finding ourselves are perfectly that do not require any changes.  What about you? What is your plan?

Before the day ends, I would like to wish all of you have a great and wonderful new year.

 HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013.

Saint Stephen

When you first saw this picture? You might be wondering that what I'm going to share today. Perhaps, you might try to figure it out by observing the picture below and find out the answer.

Yes. He is Saint Stephen. (St.Stephen), the first martyr of the church.

Today, just before I started to pray. Out of sudden, I'm curious about Saint's feast day that is going to celebrate at mass today. So, I just click on the Catholic application that I have downloaded on my phone to find out. Saint of the day is St. Stephen. To be frank, I don't really know much about him. After reading his life stories, it really make me feel impress about  the way that he live for his faith.

The church has celebrated the feast day of St.Stephen on the 26th of December, right after the day of Christmas. His name Stephen means 'Crown' , and he was the first disciple of Jesus to receive the martyr's crown. A martyr is someone who is killed or made to suffer greatly because of their religious beliefs.

St.Stephen was a deacon in the early Christian Church.  The apostles had found that they needed helpers to look after the care of the widows and the poor.  So they ordained seven deacons, and Stephen is the most famous of these.

God worked many miracles through St Stephen and he spoke with such wisdom and grace that many of his hearers became followers of Jesus.  The enemies of the Church of Jesus were furious to see how successful Stephen's preaching was.  At last, they laid a plot for him.  They could not answer his wise argument, so they got men to lie about him, saying that he had spoken sinfully against God.

St. Stephen faced that great assembly of enemies without fear.  In fact, the Holy Bible says that his face looked like the face of an angel. The saint spoke about Jesus, showing that He is the Saviour, God had promised to send.  He scolded his enemies for not having believed in Jesus.  At that, they rose up in great anger and shouted at him.  But St.Stephen looked up to Heaven and said that he saw the heavens opening and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

His hearers plugged their ears and refused to listen to another word.  They dragged St .Stephen outside the city of Jerusalem and stoned him to death.  The saint prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!"  Then he fell to his knees and begged God not to punish his enemies for killing him.

After reading his story,I'm touched by his story. He teaches us to forgive our enemies, be strong in our faith and the truth of life.

Pope Benedict XVI said that He is the role model of new Evangelization. He said: we are called to fix on our gaze on the Son of God, and like St.Stephen, deacon of the first martyr of the church, ''open up our lives to the light that directs us '' on the life's path. (Source: www.news.va)

From now on, St.Stephen will be one of my patron saint in life.

Student's Arena

On a particular evening, a friend of mine send me a message and sharing her stories with me. Basically the topic is more on the problems that she faced when she is back to university. She shared with me something that bother her so much, that is the relationship between her and her course-mates.

I will not share the entire things that she has spoken to me, but partly some of the essential part that makes me really think about it. After the sharing, what makes me really think about is the RELATIONSHIP that students have between their course-mates.

I am certainly bless that the course-mates surrounded me, they are just kind and good (Mostly). Of course, we cannot expect people to have perfections in each of every aspects because no one are prefect on earth.  But her situations is totally opposite compare to mine. She has a course-mates who don't really like to share notes with her, and talking bad about her in front of other people. That is the worse part that she couldn't take and tolerate.

Well, I am sure that all of us will face such problem. Regardless of whether you are in the study's arena or working life. Sure that we will meet few people like this in our life, some sort of backstabbing. This is the reality of life. Mainly, different people come from different background and they have their own thinking and characters. Sometimes, we just cannot expect everyone to be nice and perfect in our life.

BE STRONG!

We just have to make sure that we ourselves should not contain such attitude in us, so that you can be a special and unique person, but not perfect! Haha!

Have a blessed day!

Christmas Diary

How is your Christmas celebration going on? Having a great time with your love one?
Christmas day, besides celebrating the birth of the Lord, is a season for us to gather around. You might meet up with some of you relatives which you didn't meet often. I guess it will be a great time to mingle around during this festive season.

Christmas Eve, my family and I use to attend mass before the actual day of Christmas. The feelings is good when I got a chance to be present at God's house. The feelings is just good. Of course, I manage to meet some of the church members who are really close with me and received some warmly greetings from them.

Christmas day itself, we will have some gathering with some relatives and friends. Some of you might be wondering, what about the present I'm receiving? Well, this year I got a limited edition t-shirt  with the printing of the formal Kuala Lumpur's archbishop wording on it. This present mean a lot to me because we cannot get it from anywhere else.

This is the wonderful present that I got it from my Parents and brother. Love it so much!

During of the day, I also did some prayer as well. Always feel good to pray for others who are in need.

Assumption Church, Pj. First time attending their mass. The feeling was always great.

This is my celebration for Christmas. What about you?

Merry Christmas Greetings

It's Christmas Eve today. What is your plan today? Going to church? Having party with friends? Some even are heading to the shopping mall for 'last minute Christmas Shopping'.

I hereby wishing everyone of you,  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2013.
Enjoy this nice and wonderful season.

Have a blessed Christmas.

Is that the meaning?

Since I uninstall my Facebook application on my phone, I hardly log in to my account to check on the latest buzz news on this popular media social. I guess, most of us first clicking on the log in button, what will appear first basically is about the event that the whole world are going to celebrate on the 25th of December. That is Christmas!

When we visit the mall, a huge big Christmas tree is standing in front of you to welcome you. When we meet our friends, most of us will remind each other to get them a nice and wonderful present during this Christmas season. Let us pause for a moment and think , is this what Christmas is all about?

Early this morning, when I got up. Just before time for me to gym, I manage to log in to my account and saw a wonderful sentence which written by one of my friend. She clearly stated that, Christmas is not about Santa Clause (Present season---Santa Clause is coming to town.), Christmas tree, or even a new clothes or food. This season is just about one person, He is '' Jesus Christ'', who is the Son of God who saves us and free us from our sin, so that we may enjoy the everlasting life with God in heaven.

In conjunction with the Year of Faith that launched by the pope, the church call us to reflect, spend more time in prayer to deepen our relationship with our Lord. For me, that is Christmas. Personally, I find that we should spend more time by doing some prayers and to strengthen our faith.

Some of you might be skeptical with the statement that I mentioned above. One might think that am I not suppose to enjoy this season? Pray the whole day?

No. That is not what I mean. Of course, we can still enjoy and have some gathering with our family members and relatives. However, try to spend a little more time by doing some prayers and reflection on the scriptures. Listen to what God telling us.

Most of the Christian will be celebrating Christmas on the 25th of December. For me,  Celebrating Christmas can be an everyday affair.

How to do that? It's simple! Spend more time in prayer and deepen our relationship with Him.

So, Christmas is not only celebrate once in a year. But, we can celebrate it daily by consistently looking for Him through Prayer.

Humble Beginnings

After a long and busy study week, finally I managed to finished my first paper of exam which was held on  last Wednesday. After exam, probably you will here someone beside you saying 'I should have read the questions properly before addressing it', or some of the highly confident people/students might give you a hint that they did well in this exam paper. Some of you might think that it might sound a bit boastful or highly confident for this particular student.

It reminds me about a friend of mine who told me that She hates to become a loser and she wants to be a winner for every single things(exam, sports games etc.) that she participate in her life. Well, sometimes it will be good that we have confident in something, but excess of it will create hatred or sores to people when somebody heard it. Sometimes people might think that you're boastful.

In this context, it reminds me the word of humbleness. God teaches us to be humble in each of every circumstances that we are dealing or facing. Some of the high position people in the cooperate sector, you might be wondering even I am sitting on a high position in the cooperate ladder, I need to be humble as well? Isn't that I need to show the power that I have to my down people then only I can gain the respect from them? This thinking will cause you a bomb in future. In every situation, we must know that we need to work in a team, or a group. A team or a group is more than 2 or many people which every one in the team must cooperate with each other. Even you are the main host in the team, we should have listen to various opinion to get things done easily. A leader shouldn't be acting or have an attitude that everything they know and they shouldn't be listening to anyone else opinion, or even for their guidance.

In my life, I'm still learning to be a humble person as I could. Learning Curve doesn't end until we can achieve the most humble people on earth.

Celebration of the Immaculate Conception

It is often noted that pregnant mothers have a certain radiance and 'glow' about them, physically attributed to the extra flow of blood around their bodies. But of course, it is well to think that this is a beautiful external sign of the inner joy that an expectant mother experiences in her spirit as new life grows and develops within her womb. During Advent, the Church focuses her attention on several persons, and one of these is a pregnant mother, who is not just aglow with joy and her pregnancy, but also beautiful and radiant with divine grace. This person, of course, is the Blessed Virgin Mary.

During this advent season, this coming Saturday we will be celebrating the feast of the Immaculate Conception. The Immaculate Conception is a dogma of the Catholic Church maintaining that from the moment when she was conceived the Blessed Virgin Mary was kept free of original sin and was filled with the sanctifying grace normally conferred during baptism.

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception celebrates belief in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is universally celebrated on December 8, nine months before the feast of the Nativity of Mary, which is celebrated on September 8. We will be celebrating this wonderful feast day tomorrow during Mass as well as other Catholic Church around the world.

As you can see the top part of my church,Our Lady of Lourdes, which written :
'I am the Immaculate Conception'

My Church, which name as Our Lady of Lourdes, is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary invoke by Roman Catholic in honor of the Marian Apparition in Lourdes, France.

Most prominently among these is the apparition of February 11, 1858, when Saint Bernadette Soubirous, a 14-year-old peasant girl admitted to her mother that a "lady" spoke to her in the cave of Massabielle, (a mile from the town) while gathering firewood with her sister and a friend. Bernadette Soubirous was later canonized as a Saint.

On 11 February 1858, Bernadette Soubirous went with her sisters Toinette and Jeanne Abadie to collect some firewood and bones in order to buy some bread. After taking off her shoes and stockings to wade through the water near the Grotto of Massabielle, she said she heard the sound of two gusts of wind (coups de vent) but the trees and bushes nearby did not move. A wild rose in a natural niche in the grotto, however, did move. From the niche, or rather the dark alcove behind it, "came a dazzling light, and a white figure." She was dressed all in white, apart from the blue belt fastened around her waist and the golden yellow roses, one on each foot, the colour of her rosary. Bernadette, knowing the local area well, managed to visit the barricaded grotto under cover of darkness. There, on 25 March, she said she was told: "I am the Immaculate Conception"

On Easter Sunday, 7 April, her examining doctor stated that Bernadette, in ecstasy, was observed to have held her hands over a lit candle without sustaining harm. On 16 July, Bernadette went for the last time to the Grotto. I have never seen her so beautiful before, she reported.

St.Bernadette in-corrupt body.

Our Lady of Lourdes with St.Bernadette.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

This is the sharing of me today. I hope it benefited those(particularly some of my friends )who  keen to know about the Catholic Faith.

Mass in campus

Time was just limited for us to prepare the Mass just within these few weeks. As a university student, we have to handle many different things in our studies. However, with God graces, nothing is impossible in Him. We manage to organize and arrange everything in a proper manner. Some of you might be wondering what is that to prepare for a mass?

We have to discuss what are those hymns that is suitable during this particular day, and the role that each of the member should perform during the mass. I'm glad that I got a chance to become a commentator. Throughout this experience, I gain a lot of knowledge on how to handle a mass.

Many thanks to Rev. Father George Harrison from Holy Family Church, who all the way come from his parish to celebrate the mass in my campus. Many thanks to one of the nun, Sister Margaret who always be our adviser in each of the aspect of our mass.

Have a shot with Rev.Father George Harrison (Parish Priest of Holy Family Church,Kajang)

I'm glad that we are able to celebrate the mass during this semester. This is the hope of all the members, and all of us are praying for it. Praise the Lord that the Lord has make our dreams and wishes come true. We manage to have it just before our final exam.

Catholic Student Society (CSS)

We manage to meet some of the wonderful church members who joined us for the mass. Have some conversation with few of them, and they are just great.

Thomson with Shirley Chan

Once again, thanks to all the CSS members who really work hard in preparing the hymns, slides, music and etc for the mass. Without their effort, it would not be turn up become that successful. Well, there is always some room of improvement.

Great to have a small fellowship with all the church members. Hope to meet up with them soon.
